Arteplage Neuchâtel

Air Show

Event Air Show
Venue Arteplage Neuchâtel
Date 14.06.2002
Time 14:00
Programme

At the beginning of 1999, those responsible for Expo.01 at the time were asked by the Swiss Air Force whether they would consider organising one or more air shows over the Arteplages. After Expo.01's general management had given its approval, the conditions for these demonstrations were laid down:

  • no integration of civil aviation
  • no musical accompaniment by army marching bands
  • no commentators
  • musical accompaniment by a DJ

A first draft by Bernese choreographer Christian Mattis was rejected by the Swiss Army Air Force for safety reasons. A second, adapted design was then accepted.

The Swiss Air Force organised the air show with an F/A-18, six parachutists, the PC-7 porter team and the Patrouille Suisse. The musical accompaniment for the air show was provided by Zurich DJ Matthias Vetter, a talented musician and aircraft fan.
