| Concept | Typisch Zürich – ein Kanton in Bewegung was the motto that the Canton of Zurich lived up to at Expo.02. On Canton Zurich Day, mainly foreign musicians who live or work in the Canton of Zurich were presented on numerous stages at the Arteplage Biel-Bienne. Through their involvement with music, they made a significant contribution to the cultural, intellectual and emotional exchange between the Swiss and foreign populations in the canton. Numerous musical highlights could be experienced throughout the afternoon and into the night. The spectrum ranged from explosive dance rhythms to contemplative sounds. In addition to well-known and popular pieces, compositions and arrangements specially commissioned for the occasion were performed, as well as ensembles formed especially and exclusively for this day. For some of the projects, the performance at the Arteplage Biel-Bienne was the start of a tour. | |
