During the week of action against anti-personnel mines, a temporary exhibition was put on by Swiss non-governmental organisations and the Federal Administration that are committed to the fight against anti-personnel mines.

The artistically designed exhibition showed the various facets of the work against anti-personnel mines:

  • Assistance for mine victims
  • Raising awareness among the affected population and preventing accidents
  • Clearance of mines and unexploded ordnance
  • Support for the International Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction (Ottawa Convention of 1997)
  • With photographs and videos directly from the affected countries

The following spoke:

  • Federal Councillor Samuel Schmid
  • Elisabeth Reusse-Decrey, Coordinator of the Swiss Campaign against Anti-Personnel Mines
  • Cornelio Sommaruga, former President of the ICRC

Followed by: World premiere of the Troupe Nomades dance theatre and a short concert by jazz pianist Malcolm Braff
