| Programme | The Directorate of Political Affairs of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) jointly organised the exhibition dedicated to peace: Another world is possible - we are committed. Priority topics were addressed, such as humanitarian aid, development cooperation, the participation of Swiss experts in peacebuilding programmes and the deployment of SWISSCOY. The annual ambassadors' conference, chaired by the head of the FDFA, Federal Councillor Joseph Deiss, focused in particular on the problem of peace in the Middle East, the role of minorities in peacebuilding, the contribution of the civilian population to the peace process and the problem of post-war reconstruction and reconciliation. | |
