| Programme | The Respect Village association was born out of the idea of involving as many non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as possible in a project dealing with the theme of respect at Expo.02. The Respect Village, which involved 3,000 schoolchildren and several hundred amateur actors, attempted to concretise the complex theme of the event - respect is not, it becomes. Several dozen outsiders (juvenile delinquents, alcoholics, gypsies, disabled people) were integrated into the project as actors who performed as part of the hidden animations that took place throughout the Arteplage. Even those who could not be physically present on the Arteplage (the chronically ill and prisoners) were able to take part in the event thanks to a TV duplex broadcast, which was shown live on a large screen. The event led to intensive discussions between the students and the prisoners or chronically ill. | |
