The artist Shirana Shahbazi (*1974) created an ambivalent image of freedom for the Swiss National Exhibition. In the entrance area of the Arteplage Biel-Bienne, visitors were confronted with a huge canvas on which symbols of freedom and happiness came together to form a strong visual message. Just above it, a neon sign flickered with the auspicious message of Freiheit (Freedom).
